Loppusuoralla

Kehitysyhteistyöhankkeen suunnittelu ja rahoitushakemuksen kirjoittaminen on iso urakka. FinnWIDin nuorten naisten koulutus - ja toimeentulomahdollisuuksia kehittävän hankkeen suunnittelussa on alkamassa toukokuussa viimeinen rutistus, sillä ulkoministeriön hankehaku päättyy 14.5.2018. Tässä on näyte hakemuksen tämänhetkisestä vaiheesta ja siitä, miltä tulevan hankkeemme tavoitteen kuvaus näyttää tällä hetkellä: 

Project approach

Long-term development objective of the project is that fewer young women end up as victims of human trafficking. To achieve this objective project targets two immediate objectives which will have the following concrete outputs during the project:

1. Young women who participate to pilot training programme carried out during the project have gained knowledge and networks to be able to secure a sufficient livelihood through their own work

·   OUTPUT 1: Business opportunities mapping exercise in Benin City is done

·   OUTPUT 2: Mapping of different forms of business hubs in Nigeria and in other countries is done

·   OUTPUT 3: Outline of the pilot training programme created in cooperation with the young women who are in risk of becoming victims of human trafficking and planning to travel to Europe and other community members is done

·    OUTPUT 4: One pilot training programme run successfully

2. Community members, such as different duty bearers and trained young women, are engaged to develop livelihood opportunities of young women and act against human trafficking

·   OUTPUT 1: Different duty bearers are engaged to develop the livelihood opportunities of young women

·   OUTPUT 2: Trained young women act as peer educators in their communities

·    OUTPUT 3: Structure of the actual training programme and plan to extend it is documented/written

·    OUTPUT 4: Customized and branded IEC materials for the persons participating to trainings and meetings in the selected rural communities is created.

The project will start a process to develop structural changes to the society in order to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for young women who are in a vulnerable position to become victims of human trafficking and possibly planning the travel to Europe. In this first phase of the project, the training programme for young women is created, piloted and then re-modified to be extended in the second phase of the project. Young women themselves, as well as community members widely, such as authorities, entrepreneurs, education institutes and community leaders, are engaged to mind storm and develop the training programme. In addition, different kind of background analysis are done, such as mapping of business-hub models and analysis of the market/employment situation in the Benin city.
